Annee Kelly

A graduate in Arts from Monash University and a qualified secondary teacher, Annee has been teaching watercolour since 1992, in addition to conducting demonstrations and
workshops in various art groups and societies throughout Victoria and receiving countless commendations and awards along the way. Her works are exhibited in renowned galleries and her sought after paintings are found in corporate and private collections both within Australia and overseas. She pursues a multitude of subject matter in a fluid and competent manner imbuing the subject with her own interpretation.

Annee is an exhibiting member of The Victorian Artists Society, where in 1999, she was elected as a Signatory Member of the Society in recognition of her contribution and services to the Arts. She is also an exhibiting member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists, The Watercolour Society of Australia, The Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, The Mentone Mordialloc Art Group, The Beaumaris Art Group and The Sherbrooke Art Society.

She has had ten successful solo exhibitions in addition to numerous joint exhibitions both within Australia and overseas, in Canada, The United Kingdom, The Peoples Republic of China, Italy and in Greece where one of her paintings is in the permanent collection of the Municipality of Heraklion, Crete. She enjoys painting on location and is constantly seeking new inspiration and challenge. Annee conducts annual painting workshops in Europe, alternating between France and Italy. Her articles have featured in the Australian Artists Magazine and she was selected for inclusion in volume 1, “Fifty Australian Artists”.

Meg Davoran-Honey

Meg Davoren-Honey has been painting for many years. She paints still life and has a great love of the outback Australia, particularly Arnhem Land and Kakadu in the Northern Territory. Meg paints in oils and runs a portrait art group in East Malvern Victoria.

Carole Milton

Carole Milton is a multi-award winning artist, experienced art judge, teacher and demonstrator of her craft. The National Gallery of Victoria and the Women's Art Register both include Carole Milton on their respective registers. Galleries in London, Paris and New York have exhibited her work.

Carole's work was in a touring exhibition of Australian art in China, where her painting of camellias received favourable comments.

Keming Shen

Keming is a professional artist who studied art in Shanghai. He taught at the East China Normal University (Fine Arts Department) before coming to Australia. He works mainly in oils and watercolours and paints all subjects.

Pat McKenzie

Pat McKenzie began painting seriously after moving to live permanently in Aireys Inlet about 18 years ago. She loves painting the variety of scenes around the Great Ocean Road, You will find an artist willing to have a go at anything and in all mediums. Pat has held several solo exhibitions and has been a part of many joint exhibitions and her work is held in private collections both here and overseas.

Clive Sinclair

Born Melbourne 1951. Clive commenced serious art training in 1973 with John Lennox followed by a further 12 months with Max Casey in tonal realism. Clive's "Minimal Landscapes" have evolved through tonal realism and traditional painting techniques that allow him the liberty of "Capturing a sense of luminosity of light" in what are fleeting instants. His is a more liquid and gestural approach to the subject of landscape as object - a peripheral view.

Brigitte Landgraf

After a long fascination with the visual arts, in 1983 Brigitte commenced traing in tonal realism under Gaham Moore in the Moore School of Painting. She was also atudent of Alvao Castagnet, Barbara McCallum, Barbara McManus, Lee Machelak, David Taylor, Robert Wade and Maxwell Wilks. She has worked in many mediums including oils, water colours, pastels and sculpture and won numerous awards.

Helen Miles

Born in Melbourne Helen’s love of the creative has been a driving force for most of her life. Over the last thirty years she has thrived on discovering her unique approach to a wide variety of subjects including landscapes, seascapes, florals, still life, bird and animal studies. Pastel and acrylic have emerged as her most used mediums. Living near the Great Dividing Range affords Helen a myriad of painting possibilities. During operating her successful gallery in Melbourne in the early 1990’s Helen showcased her work along with some of Australia’s most well known artists. Helen has taught painting professionally and privately over many years and is a member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists, Victorian Artists Society, past Secretary and President of the Kilmore Art Society Inc, a member of the Seymour and District Art Society Inc, the Heathcote Artists Inc., Woodend Art Group and is a committee member of the Mitchell Shire Arts & Cultural Advisory Committee. She is also a member of the organizing committee of the Kilmore Art Expo which held its inaugural show in 2008. She has entered and sold her works at numerous art shows over many years and to date has won over 70 awards and prizes. Images, demonstrations and articles of her work have been published in the Australian Artist and Artist Palette magazines. Helen’s work hangs in private collections throughout Australia, Japan, USA, New Zealand Denmark and Scotland; and she exhibits regularly at the Dragonfly Gallery, Hurstbridge; Hobson’s Studio, Queenscliff; Art & Frames Gallery, Benalla; U Can Doo Gallery, Kilmore; Old Courthouse Gallery, Seymour; Victorian Artists Society, East Melbourne; Australian Guild of Realist Artists Gallery, Camberwell ; MAD Gallery, Lancefield, and Kilmore Hospital.

Giorgio Faggioni

Giorgio Faggioni was born in the year 1931 in the island of Elba, Italy. In the field of the visual arts, he has produced works in the following mediums:

Oil, tempera, pastel, water caolour, print making, engraving, mezzo tint, intaglio, sculpture, bronze casting and carving (marble and wood).

The entire process of bronze casting is always carried out by himself. With print making, the construction of the press was made by himself. Powder pigments are used in oil and tempera painting.

His work is narrative, with a thematic humanistic contest. He is represented in the Department of Secondary Education, Melbourne and the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra.

Don James

Don has studied oil painting with Ms Shirley Bourne OAM and Alan Martin. He developed an abiding interest in realism and portays light falling on surfaces of objects of differing textures, colours and tones. Don paints portraits, figures, landscape, still life and flowers, only from life. Has held 7 solo exhibitions since 1988 and been involved in several joint exhibitions.

Dieter H. Prüssner

Dieter is a Melbourne artist and teacher, comfortable in all mediums and subject matter. He is presently challenged by 3D Computer Art as a new medium to explore. Preferred subject matter is moody landscape, historic architecture and social comment. He is represented in Australia as well as the USA, UK, Asia and Europe. Each of his images are treated as individual art works and are not repeated.

Ev Hales

Ev Hales is an artist who works in a variety of three mediums each one challenges the artist. Her artistic life is a journey each step leading to the next, never standing for too long in the one place. You will find works which celebrate our natural world and the never ending magic that changing light creates daily. As well as this you will see an artist who is keen to view the everyday aspects of her life, fascinated by the spaces we build for ourselves and how we navigate our way through them.

Manwel Cassar

Manwel has been a professional artist/teacher, over the last 30 years and creates his works with a vigorous fauvish-expressionist style, coupled with his energetic involvement in representing artistic images derived at first hand. He is a Bachelor of Arts (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) and has many other qualifications. His works are well represented in Australia and overseas.

Nell Frysteen

Nell constantly maintains the dignity and composure of her subjects with a remarkable sensitivity and yet so bold in colour and size as to take your breath away. What is immediately engaging about her rose paintings is the sensual romance and rhythm of these powerful yet delicate works - perfect rhythm in dancing petals capturing a great sense of movement joyously cavorting on the canvas taking us along for the ride.

Terry Swann

Terry Swann is a contemporary watercolour artist. She has had some 20 solo exhibitions both in Australia and abroad.

Her passion is 'painting on location' and her work takes her to remote parts of Australia. She explains, "I find inspiration by being 'in' the subject and use my emotional response to capture the essence of the surrounding landscape."

Gregory R. Smith FVAS

Greg's works are well known and need no further introduction. Highly regarded for his landscapes and still life studies. He is also a teacher and council member of the VAS. His works excel in his use of chiaroscuro and traditional oils.

Margaret Gurney

Margaret Gurney is an Australian Artist whose love of painting and drawing has been a natural part of her life. Her contemporary style emphasizes shape, form and spontaneous, sensuous line.

Her art practice has always included working with the nude.

Winner of the 2010 Australian Watercolour Society commended prize, 2008 Isabella de Soyres Life Drawing Award and the Isabella de Soyres General Drawing Award, Margaret is represented in collections around the world. Her career includes 20 Solo exhibitions and numerous Selected Group Exhibitions nationally and internationally. In 2009 Margaret was invited to exhibit in the Florence Biennale in Italy.

A teacher with the National Gallery of Victoria and Art Societies she has worked as a Graphic Designer, Art Director, Lecturer and Arts Education Manager.

Margaret paints with a deep passion out of love for her creative process. Working directly from the model, her nudes are bare of pretensions, spontaneous, sensuous and beautiful.

Joyce McGrath

Joyce McGrath studied Drawing under Harold Freedman at RMIT and Painting in the Bourke Street studios of Amalie and A.D.Colquhoun.

Concentrating mainly on portraiture, Joyce won the Alice Bale Art Award for Painting in 1990, and her works have been hung in the Portia Geach and the James Farrell Portrait Prize exhibitions. She won the Rembrandt Melbourne Artists Supplies Award for a landscape in the year 2000. Currently four of her commissioned portraits hang in the Royal Childrens’ Hospital, four at Mannix College, Monash University, two at Melbourne Grammar School. Portraits of Australian composer, Peggy Glanville Hicks have been purchased by the National Library and the State Library of Victoria. Joyce has been a Council member of the Victorian Artists Society since 1990 and began exhibiting with the Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, and the International Society of Miniature Painters. This includes an exhibition at the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, in 2004.

Joyce McGrath talents have also been recognized with an Honorary Life Member of the Victorian Artists Society.

Erica Wagner

Erica Wagner is a Melbourne based artist who is also a children's book publisher with Allen & Unwin. She exhibits regularly with the Victorian Artists' Society and the Contemporary Art Society and was the winner of the CAS Annual Exhibition in 2011. She recently had her first solo exhibition at the Cambridge Studio Gallery

The images on this site are examples from three recent series. ‘The forest’, ‘The suburban landscape’ and ‘The figure’

I am interested in making images from the man made environment, the human presence and the natural landscape. I look for structure and order in transforming the ordinary and transient into flat formal monuments that give the illusion of solidity and permanence.

Drawing is very important to me, it is the initial responsive contact with the subject, before I begin to analyse and dissect in orchestrating the painting.
