CHANGING PERSPECTIVES 2017 - MELBOURNE SOCIETY OF WOMEN PAINTERS & SCULPTORS

Melbourne Society of Women Painters & Sculptors 108th Annual Exhibition will feature art works by women artists working in a vast range of media and approaches from the traditional to the innovative. Hence the exhibition’s title Changing Perspectives 2017. All artists represented have submitted folios and curriculum vitae to MSWPS Committee to be eligible to exhibit. This requirement ensures that the high standards, set so long ago, are upheld.

This exhibition has something to engage everyone!

 

Concurrently downstairs in Cato Gallery there will be A Tribute Exhibition to Connie Walker FVAS (a member since 1983 who passed away this year) and MSWPS Life Drawing; works completed in Thursday morning Life Drawing sessions.

 

MSWPS is honoured that Clive Sinclair VAS, the highly regarded artist and teacher, will officially Open MSWPS 108th exhibition. He will also judge and present

The Annie Davison Oliver Award ($1000)and The Danks Trust Awards ($1000).

The Constance Wu Award ($500) will be presented later to the artist receiving the most votes.

The Elegant Afternoon Tea and Talk has become a popular event of MSWPS Annual Exhibition. For the first time it will be presented in the newly renovated gracious, Victorian Artist’s Society Galleries, that have been beautifully restored to their historic glory.

We are delighted to welcome Helen Brack, (Maudsley) as our guest speaker.  Helen opened and judged our exhibition a couple of years ago and was an inspiring speaker.  Her talk, ‘Helen Brack - A Life’ Life as a painter, mother and wife to artist John Brack will background her upcoming solo exhibition, Helen Maudsley - Our Knowing and not knowing.
