About Richard Payne
Born in Melbourne, Australia in 1957, Richard Payne is a modernist abstract figurative artist who studied architectural perspective in Australia with Robert W Gill, Thames & Hudson best-selling author of Basic & Creative Perspective. Richard also studied classical realism painting at the Florence Academy of Art, Italy and with various private tutors.
Whilst living in Florence, Payne developed ‘Perspective for the Artist’, a course specifically designed for academy students and has delivered master-classes in Florence, New York and San Francisco.
Payne lives, works and teaches from his artist’s studio in Daylesford, Australia, returning to Europe and the USA to paint & teach. His work hangs in private collections in Australia, Europe and the USA.
