This class features the technique of oil painting in the traditional manner of tonal impressionism. Subjects covered include still life and portrait and figure studies. Students new to oil painting will be working with black and white initially then progressing through to full colour as skills are developed. Suitable for beginner to intermediate students.
In 1994, having won the Alice Bale Travelling Scholarship the previous year, Lee studied at the Florence Academy of Art, Italy. The scholarship also provided the opportunity for a three month study tour in Europe. Subsequent study tours have taken Lee to New York, Boston and Washington. Lee has over 20 years experience as a teacher both here and North America. She conducts portrait workshops and demonstrations, judges and undertakes portrait commissions. She has exhibited in Singapore, London, New York and Vancouver.
