Artist Statement

Travelling the world constantly, many scenes along the way stimulates my imagination, especially interesting characters in the streets.

Sketching and photographing throughout my journeys assist me in developing my work back in the studio. My visual memories invoke the essence that the camera was unable to capture, whilst journal entries record sensations of my experiences.

With a strong passion toward portraiture, one day a week I work before a model with the Friday Group Painters in the Victorian Artists' Society's studio.

Through the VAS & MSWPS exhibitions and Rotary Art Shows, I have received numerous commendations and since 2004 I have had three solo shows.

I also teach drawing, oils and pastel from my studio in Strathmore, holding occasional workshops with my students.
